Description
Delicious grilled cheese sandwich made with cheddar and mozzarella.
Ingredients

- 2 slices sourdough or artisan bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded or thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded or thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil or parsley, chopped (optional)
- 2 slices tomato or roasted red pepper (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Flip the slices over and layer cheddar and mozzarella on the non-buttered side.
- Add tomato slices, roasted pepper, or herbs between the cheese layers if desired.
- Close the sandwich with buttered sides facing out.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low and place the sandwich in the pan.
- Grill for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Let the sandwich rest for a minute before slicing.
- Garnish with herbs and a dash of pepper if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
