A delicious Italian dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone filling.

- 24–30 pieces ladyfingers
- 1 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons non-alcoholic coffee syrup or extra strong coffee (optional, adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
- 4 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped (optional, for dipping)
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream (optional, if using chocolate for dipping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Dip ladyfingers in cooled espresso or strong coffee quickly and arrange them in a single layer in a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers.
- Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Dust the top with cocoa powder and chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
- If using, melt dark chocolate and mix in heavy cream, then drizzle over the dessert before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the coffee syrup to taste for desired sweetness.
- For a firmer texture, chill the dessert overnight.
