Description
Delicious steak sliders topped with caramelized onions and melted cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb flank or sirloin steak
- 8 slider buns
- 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Season the steak with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness. Let it rest for five minutes before slicing thinly.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat and add sliced onions. Cook until soft and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
- Toast slider buns lightly until golden brown.
- On each bun bottom, layer a slice of steak, caramelized onions, cheese, and drizzle with barbecue sauce.
- Melt cheese under the broiler for about one minute until gooey.
- Serve warm with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the steak in your favorite spices before cooking.
- You can substitute with any cheese of your choice.
