Description

This BBQ Baked Tofu is flavorful, crispy, and perfect as a main dish or a side!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite, check for vegan/gluten-free if needed)

Instructions

  1. Press tofu for at least 20 minutes to remove excess moisture. Pat dry, then cut into 1-inch cubes or slabs, as preferred.
  2. In a large bowl, toss tofu cubes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until fully coated.
  3. Arrange tofu in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  4. Brush or toss baked tofu pieces generously with BBQ sauce. Return tofu to oven and bake another 10 minutes (at 400°F/200°C), until the sauce is sticky and caramelized.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve hot, garnished with extra BBQ sauce if desired.

Notes
