Description

Delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies packed with flavor and a hint of pecans.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl (a stand mixer will work best) cream together the butter and sugars until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla and combine.
  4. Add the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt and stir until combined.
  5. Stir in the oatmeal and nuts.
  6. Scoop onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes. Add additional time as needed, but make sure to not overbake!
  7. Remove to a cooling rack.

Notes

  • Make sure your butter is softened for the best texture.
  • If you prefer a crunchier cookie, you can bake them a little longer.
